Bardzo ważne ćwiczenie/ Very important exercise

Parę dni temu brałam udział w bardzo ważnym dla czytelników ćwiczeniu. Redakacja Muratora zaprosiła do siebie wszytkich współpracujących z nią fotografów.

Poczas ćwiczenia mogłam prześledzić całą drogę jaką przechodzą moje fotografie. Zazwyczaj oddajemy nasze zdjęcia do redakcji i widzimy je dopiero w publikacji. Pomiędzy nami a finalnym magazynem dużo dzieje się z oddanym materiałem.

Dla nas ważne było aby zobaczyć jak nasze zdjęcia zmieniają się w zależności od tego jak je obrobimy, na jakim będą drukowanym papierze. A dochodzi tu również czynnik drukarni - maszyny i drukarza.

Wszsytkie ogniwa procesu wydawniczego odpowiadają za jakość jaką otrzyma czytelnik. Do nas jako fotografów należy etap początkowy- bardzo ważny o ile nie najważniejszy. Bo przecież to my byliśmy na miejscu i wiemy jak wyglądaly przestrzenie, które fotografowaliśmy.

To ćwiczenie miało dodatkową wartość. Potraktowałam je jako walidację mojego procesu postprodukcji.

Z ćwiczenia, które pokazuję poniżej wynika, że muszę pamiętać o większym rozjaśnianiu ciemniejszych fragmentów zdjęć. Co do kolorystyki - jestem bardzo zadowolona. Bardzo się cieszę, że to jak pracuję podczas postprodukcji oddaje przestrzenie takie jakie były.

Some days a go I too a part in a very interesting for me and important for the readers exercise. Murator invited all cooperation with them photographers. During the meeting I could see the full process my photographs are going through.

Usually we are not involved in the process and we are able to see our photographs when they are already printed. For me this exercise was a type of validation my post production process.

It was very interesting to see how they are changing depending on how they are edited. They are not only other people involved but also colour of the paper, printing machines and the person who is supervising the printing process.

For us, photographers, it is important to give the best possible starting point material. In my humble opinion it is the most important step as we are the only once who know how the space we photographed is looking like.

This exercise, which I am presenting below shows me that, when Murator is involved, I need to remember to make the dark areas lighter than they were. Just to compensate the colour of the paper and machine limitations. The colours themselves were so close that I am very pleased with the result.
